Eaton earns certificatein antique appraisal at University of Ga.

Pamela Eaton of Washington- Wilkes has received a certificateof completion for the connoisseurship course, "Appraising Antiques and Decorative Arts," from the Personal Property Appraisal CertificateProgram of the University of Georgia. The program is under the auspices of the American Society of Appraisers.

The course was an introduction to the connoisseurship and appraisal of furniture, ceramics, silver and glass. Each category was an overview of the evolution of form and style including relevant visual images and appropriate terminology as well as criteria for making value judgments. It also included the "14 Points of Connoisseurship" and helping to develop skills such as qualitative ranking, classificationand writing object descriptions.

Mrs. Eaton is a personal property appraiser with a particular interest in antiques and decorative arts. She is a member of the American Society of Appraisers, Appraisers National Association, Auction Marketing Institute, and has had extensive training at different museums and seminars.
