Virginia Persons Pharis Graveside services for Virginia (Totsie) Persons Pharis, 94, will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville, Ohio, at a date to be announced. She died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, in Lexington, Ky. Mrs. Pharis was born in Wellston, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Victor Hugo Persons and Lynne Morris Persons. She was the widow of Richard Wendell Pharis. Mr. and Mrs. Pharis had lived in Washington-Wilkes for a number of years. She was an avid collector of antiques and opened Gallery Antiques in Washington. She had been a model in style shows in Atlanta and in Lexington, Ky., and never lost her enthusiasm for beautiful clothes. She loved music and played the piano from age four until her death. She loved to travel and never let her age limit her adventures. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Washington and was a current member of the Colonial Dames, Ft. James Chapter of Georgia, and a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington-Wilkes and in Lexington, Ky. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Pharis and Sky Hedman of Lexington, Ky.; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Vivian Pharis of Cochrane, Alberta, Canada; and a sister, Annette Persons Smith of Maumee, Ohio.
