Bible Searchers enjoy fellowship at McAvoy home

The Adult Bible Searchers of First Baptist Church enjoyed a class fellowship in the Big Gulley Saloon (garage) at the home of Kerry and Nancy McAvoy Saturday evening, August 18.

Class members and guests strolled through the grounds taking in the interesting displays as the cooks, Kerry McAvoy and Gary Mansfield,put the finishing touches on the grilled hamburgers.

Inside the saloon-garage decorated with western-theme memorabilia, tables were decorated in blue and red, accented with bandanas, cowboy boots, miniature hay bales, and colorful flowers. Similar decorations added touches to the buffet tables which held grilled hamburgers and all the trimmings, delicious salads, baked beans and decadent desserts. Cokes and iced tea completed the menu.

Kerry McAvoy, one of the class teachers, welcomed everyone and offered the blessing before the meal.

After dinner, Dean Mansfield, chairman of the 2007 Stewardship Committee, conducted a short meeting with the class which is serving as a part of this committee.

Teacher Jeff Franklin led the closing prayer.

Attending with the McAvoys were Bill and Teresa Bishop, Gene and Lynne Land, Gary and Dean Mansfieldand their guests, Gene and Linda Fender of Carrollton, Pug and Kay Nelms, Tom and Melanie Wells, Jackie Gillispie, Wayne and Sharon Williamson, David and Louise McClearen, Jim and Shelby Caddell, Jeff and Lisa Franklin, Guy Seymour, Chris, Tara, Garston and Henry Townsend, Edward and Susan Pope, and Lou and Carol Harris of Roswell.
