Sex offenses top list of August cases handled by law enforcement agencies Serious sex offenses lead this month's roundup of law enforcement activity. On August 17, Matthew A. Sims, 36, of Lincoln Circle in Washington, was arrested by Washington Police SP Philliph Perkins and charged with felony aggravated assault, rape, and aggravated sodomy. Sims had just been released from jail on a charge of rape, Lt. Nelson said. In another incident, promising local athlete Demont Gresham, 19, of Washington, was arrested Saturday and charged with rape and aggravated sodomy. Washington Police Investigator Lt. Joe Nelson, who is investigating the case, said that the alleged rape occurred Saturday but that Gresham insisted that it was consensual. He was due to leave for an opportunity with a major league baseball team this week. Two cases of aggravated stalking are also being investigated. Convicted sex offender Temon Williams, 26, of Washington, was arrested last Tuesday and charged with felony aggravated stalking and is held on a state probation violation. In a second stalking case being investigated, Wilkes Co. deputies arrested Richard W. Cade, 42, of Tignall and charged him with aggravated stalking. He was held on $100,000 bond. Other arrests during the month of August include: Joshua Quinton Gowen, 19, of Wilkes Co., was arrested August 24 by Washington Police and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and with a traffic violation. He was released on $25,500 bond. Luther Thomas Willis, 44, of Macon, was arrested August 23 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. He was held on $283 bond. Milton Cullars, 50, of Washington, was arrested August 23 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. He was held on $283 bond. Josefina Aranda Ramirez, 35, of Wilkes Co. was arrested August 23 by Wilkes Co. deputies and charged with a driver's license violation. She was released on $295 bond. Archie Demarcus Acree III, 30, of Washington, was arrested August 23 by Washington Police and charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on $283 bond. Stanley M. Curry, 34, of Wilkes Co., was arrested August 17 by Wilkes Co. deputies and held on child support charges. Gary Cade, 43, of Tignall, was arrested August 16 by Tignall Police and charged with disorderly conduct. He was held on $289 bond. Xavier Malik Quinn, 17, of Washington, was arrested August 13 by Washington Police and charged with two counts of burglary. He was held on $16,000 bond. Terry Lee Treadway Jr., 26, of Tignall, was arrested August 12 by Wilkes Co. deputies and charged with possession, manufacture, or distribution of a controlled substance; misdemeanor sale, distribution, etc. of dangerous drugs; misdemeanor possession of marijuana; a license violation; and driving on a suspended registration. He was released on $33,000 bond. John Lee Thornton, 44, of Washington, was arrested August 10 by Washington Police and charged with possession, manufacture, or distribution of a controlled substance. He was held on $25,000 bond. Juan Cristian Santis, 37, of Tignall, was arrested August 13 by Wilkes Co. deputies and charged with violation of drivers license laws. He was released on $295 bond. Gerard M. Parks, 44, of Washington, was arrested August 12 by Wilkes Co. deputies and charged with simple assault and with criminal trespass. He was held on $6,000 bond. Choice Nash, 40, of Wilkes Co. was arrested August 12 by Washington Police and charged with criminal trespass. He was released on $432 bond. Hugo Bailon, 35, of Wilkes Co., was arrested August 12 by Wilkes Co. deputies and charged with operation of a vehicle without current plates, and with a license violation. He was released on $394 bond. Henry Lee Mickens, 50, of Washington, was arrested August 12 by Washington Police and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol; driving on a suspended or revoked license; and with a traffic charge. He was released on $4,450 bond. William Claude Houston, 53, of Highlands, N.C., was arrested August 10 by Georgia State Patrol troopers and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and with a traffic charge. He was released on $821 bond. Tina Delores Mills, 29, of Lincolnton, was arrested August 9 by Georgia State Patrol troopers and charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; driving on a revoked or suspended license; and with a traffic charge. She was released on $5,000 bond. Demetrius A. Perkins, 25, of Washington, was arrested August 7 by Washington Police and charged with possession, manufacture, or distribution of a controlled substance. He was held on $50,000 bond. James Wooten, 58, of Washington, was arrested August 4 by Washington Police and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and with a traffic charge. He was released on $2,100 bond. Antuawn Rico Norman, 22, of Lincolnton, was arrested August 5 by Wilkes co. deputies and charged with speeding 80 in a 55, and with driving on a suspended or revoked license. He was released on $2,000 bond. Charles Bolton, 59, of Rayle, was arrested August 2 by Wilkes co. deputies and charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license; and with operating a vehicle without a current plate. He was released on $3,500 bond. David Earl Freeman, 55, of Washington, was arrested August 2 by Wilkes co. deputies and charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license (2nd offense); and with violation of the open container law. He was held on a CSRA probation violation. Kentonda K. Hall, 30, of Washington, was arrested July 31 by Washington Police and charged with theft by taking; and with obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers. He was held on $8,000 bond.
