      My name is Mattie Gartrell. I have lived in Washington-Wilkes all of my life. Recently, I spent several weeks in the hospital and even had to go to the nursing home while I continued my recovery. After several months, I was strong enough to return home.

Dear Friends,
      Our family would like to thank each of you for the prayers, support, and visits this community has given us during our mother's illness. As many of you know, Lisa Stroika suffered septic shock from an E.coli infection and was given virtually no chance of survival.
