Thanks! There's no place like home My name is Mattie Gartrell. I have lived in Washington-Wilkes all of my life. Recently, I spent several weeks in the hospital and even had to go to the nursing home while I continued my recovery. After several months, I was strong enough to return home. Being at home was where I wanted to be, but it was very hard because I had difficultygoing from a seated to a standing position. I was in dire need of a lift chair. Unfortunately, I could not afford the lift chair on my own. I sent letters to area churches asking for a donation to assist me in getting the lift chair that I needed. The outpouring of love from both churches and individuals was amazing. In no time, I had the money I needed to purchase the lift chair. I would like to publicly thank all of you for your display of love. The old saying goes "there is no place like home." Thanks for helping me to stay in my home! Love in Christ
