New ministry plans outlined
Tena Blakey (center) and David Toburen (right) of God's Marketplace, Inc., were the guest speakers at the regular meeting of the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, September 3. Blakey, the future Thrift Store Manager, and Toburen, director of God's Marketplace, gave members an update of current operations and plans. Both indicated the need within Washington- Wilkes for such an outreach program which is to sustain itself through the sale of items donated to the Thrift Store. Plans to accept donations and begin operation of the Thrift Store are currently set for sometime between September 15 and 20, depending on the completion of renovations efforts. Rich Seibert was program host for the day.
