Iris Albea Norman

Funeral services for Iris Albea Norman, 78, of Lincolnton were held Saturday, September 1, 2007, at the Hephzibah Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Danner and Rev. Paul Reviere officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died August 29 in an accident.

Mrs. Norman was a native of Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Dillard Myers Albea and Gladys Hudson Albea. She was a lifelong member of the Hephzibah Baptist Church and was a member of the Lincoln County Historical Society and the Jamestown Foundation, Williamsburg, Va. She had compiled a book of her grandfather's writings entitled "Hoosier's Moods and Tenses."

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, William P. Norman of Lincolnton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Alex Cawthon of Thomson, Gloria and Nelson Brooks of Lincolnton, and Ellen and Greg Richard of Franklin, Tenn.; a son, William P. Norman Jr. of Lincolnton; grandchildren and their spouses, Julie and Rod Finnegan of Cuthbert; Kelly and Jeremy Field, Athens; Melanie and Johnny Mathews, Winterville; Amie and Dale Stinson, Springhill, Tenn.; Jathan and Stacey Richard of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Joshua Richard, James Richard of Franklin; and William P. Norman III, and Dillard Norman, Thomson; great-grandchildren, Chris Finnegan, Wilkes Field, John Matthews III, Sara Beth Mathews, Madison Mathews, Hunter Mathews, Barbara Ann Mathews, Cade Stinson, Blake Stinson, Grace Richard, Jesse Dee Richard; and a sister, Catherine Hill.

Pallbearers included Walter C. McGill, Joe McGill, A.C. McGill, Rod Finnegan, Jeremy Field, Johnny Mathews, Mark Hill, and Clarence Norman Jr. Members of the Hephzibah Baptist Church Choir served as honorary pallbearers.

Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
