Lady Tigers beat Irish again, start region play this week

Last Tuesday, August 28, the W-W Lady Tigers traveled to Aquinas and beat up on the Irish again, 8-4.

Cayla Gilland pitched a complete game to pick up her fourth win of the season. Jaleesa Hampton hit her first home run of the season and the second in her career. Hampton is the only girl to hit a home run since the fastpitch program started at Washington-Wilkes.

Leading hitters for the Tigers at Aquinas were Yakira Banks (3-4), Ashley Burt (2-4), Ashley West (2-4), and Hampton (2-4 hr).

The Tigers began region play on Tuesday, September 4, when they travelled to Oglethorpe County. Morgan County comes to W-W today (September 6) for the next home game beginning at 5 p.m.
