Post 17 GSP troopers work 10 Aug. wrecks, issue 116 citations

State Troopers from the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 10 traffic accidents during the month of August in Wilkes County.

Sergeant First Class Derrick Durden said the traffic crashes resulted in 15 injuries. There were no traffic deaths.

SFC Durden said troopers from Post 17 also issued 116 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes four arrests for driving under the influence; 67 citations for speeding; 14 seatbelt violations; and two child restraint violations.

Troopers also issued 208 warnings.
