Benjamin Wylie Smith Funeral services for Benjamin Wylie Smith, 20, of Poplar Drive, Washington, were held Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at the First Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. Chris Townsend officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. He died Saturday, September 8, in Washington. Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of Wilkes County. He was the son of Joyce Q. Dadhirao and the late Barry Smith, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Washington. Survivors include his mother, Joyce Q. Dadhirao; stepmother, Krista Perry Smith; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Smith; maternal step-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Perry; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Quarles; paternal great-grandmother, Hazel Combs of Crawfordville; two brothers, Zachary Smith and Clay Williamson; and a sister, Kirby Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 603, Washington 30673.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
