Lola Pink Jones Willis Funeral services for Lola Pink Jones Willis, 72, were held at the Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. Mac Hughes, Rev. Gold Walton, and Rev. George L. Edwards officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died September 5, 2007, in the Elbert Memorial Hospital, Elberton. Mrs. Willis was the daughter of the late Louise Jones and Otis Ashmore. She was a member of Thankful Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the mother board, and sang in the senior choir. She was responsible for the preparation of the Holy Communion for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Horice B. Willis; four children, Terry Willis, Elberton, Helen Fortson, Elberton, Jacklyn Bradford, Decatur, and Horice Willis Jr., Elberton; fivesisters and fivebrothers, Lena Harper, Brooklyn, N.Y., Sarah Elizabeth Bowman and Bobby Jones, Elberton, James Jones, Tignall, Austin Jones, Estell, S.C., Mamie Jones, Darien Jones, and Ruby Nell Jones, Brooklyn, N.Y., Ronnie Neal Jones, Tignall, and Kathy Jones, Brooklyn, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.
