Hargrove promoted to master sergeant at Riverside Academy

WILLIAM HARGROVE
Cadet William Hargrove has been promoted to the rank of master sergeant at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville. He is the son of Cliff and Susan Hargrove of Washington-Wilkes.

Hargrove, a senior who has attended Riverside since 2004, received his promotion during a recent ceremony in which the academy announced its top student leadership positions within the Corps of Cadets for the 2007-2008 school year.

"Riverside gives young men a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills and take on significantresponsibilities at the high school level," Col. Guy Gardner, superintendent, said. "The distinctive preparation they receive at Riverside teaches them skills that enable them to achieve both their personal and collective goals."

All seniors, these students are responsible for assisting with the supervision and development of the cadets assigned to their units. The students were selected for these positions based on observations of previous year's performance as well as demonstrated abilities during the academy 's annual leadership camp.

Riverside Military Academy is a private all-boys college preparatory boarding and day school.
