Tignall city council considers paving, sidewalks at meeting

The regular meeting of the Tignall City Council was held September 12, at 7 p.m.

Those present were Mayor Richard Gammon; council members Nobie Keener, Charles Bradley, Albert Huyck, Leon Aycock, and Tom Jackson. Also present were city clerks Linda Daniel and Elaine Jackson. Walter Parker and Henry Brown were visitors.

Topics of discussion included the paving of ChatfieldStreet and the need for sidewalks on West Wooten Street. It was suggested that a gravel walk could be put in as a temporary solution.

The metal roof has been completed at the ag building at the old school. Painting still needs to be done. The railing on the ramp at the lunchroom needs to be repaired. Putting up a wood railing was discussed.

The issue of pit bulldogs running loose on Jefferson Street was brought up. This will need to be checked into. The problem of debris in yards was also discussed. Letters will be sent out.
