Truck and Tractor Pull set for Sept. 29 at Aonia pull complex For the last time this season, the Wilkes Young Farmers will bring back the sounds of thunder. The Wilkes County Young Farmer Truck and Tractor Pull will be held Saturday, September 29, at the facility off Highway 78 at Big Cedar Road in Aonia. This is the final pull of the season in northeast Georgia, said organizer Eric Holton. "We're expecting 175 to 200 hooks in 49 classes Saturday, with a lot of local people bringing their tractors and trucks. It's going to be good." The tractor pull has a new web site: www.TheWTTP.com, he said. Admission for the pull is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 to 6. There is no charge for children under six. A pedal tractor race for kids six and under will be held after the antique classes finish in the afternoon. "Bring your own pedal tractor and compete," Holton said. Antique classes run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with signup opening at noon. Hot Farm, Modern Farm, and Truck sign up is set from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30, and competition goes from 6 p.m. until it's over.
There is a $10 charge per hook. A complete copy of the regulations is available at www.TheWTTP.com or by contacting Holton at 706-678- 4044.
