Demont Gresham, 19, was arrested by Washington Police and charged with rape for an alleged incident that happened early Saturday morning. Gresham was arrested in another alleged rape in August and is awaiting trial on those charges.

Chris Deon Dean, 18, of Wilkes County, was arrested at the Tiger homecoming game and charged with aggravated stalking, criminal trespass, and obstruction of law enforcement officers. He was bound over to Superior Court.

He was under a restraining order to keep off school property, school officials say, and Washington police officerstook him into custody when they saw him behind the stands at Tiger Stadium during Friday night's game.

He resisted arrest, and it took several officersto restrain him and place him in a police car. During the arrest and after, tensions in the crowd grew as some members of the crowd made reference to needing a Taser, and others said that they heard racial insults from certain individuals in the crowd.

Wilkes County School Superintendent Joyce Williams said that the excitement of the game along with the struggle of the arrest had raised the tension level of the crowd, and she felt she needed to defuse the situation. She asked police to escort one group of adults and one group of youth from the crowd. "That calmed things down a lot," she said.
