Gratitude expressed for support of visit by Melanie Hart
TO THE EDITOR:

We would like to thank the many members of Washington-Wilkes who made the visit by Melanie Hart an exciting and fruitful time this past week.

Melanie sang and spoke to the Kiwanis Club, the Rotary Club, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Pathway Church, First United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church. She conducted a Women's Conference Saturday morning followed by a concert on the square in Washington Saturday evening.

Though we had rain on Saturday evening many folks stayed to the end of the concert and heard, Carla Thaxton Brown, Michael Moore, Dr. Lisa Allen from Atlanta, and Melanie Hart. We thank everyone who participated.
