Absentee ballots are available; in-person voting begins Oct. 16

To request an absentee ballot for the November 6 Rayle City Election, call 706-401-0468 and leave a message. Absentee voting in person begins October 16 at Rayle City Hall from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Absentee voting means voting before the day of the election and takes on three forms: absentee by-mail, absentee in-person, and advance voting. Absentee in-person requires a reason for voting before election day. These include out of precinct, elderly, disabled, care giver, election official, religious holiday, public servant, military, and overseas civilian. Absentee by-mail includes each of the mentioned reasons and includes "No Reason." (Elderly, disabled and military, overseas civilian may want to call before checking the No Reason Box.)

Another form of absentee Voting occurs during the last week, Monday through Friday, before the election on Tuesday, November 6. This week is called Advance Week and anyone on the electors list may vote in person from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Rayle City Hall. No reason is needed.

If you would like to vote in the countywide SPLOST, you will need to request an application from the Voter Registrar's Officein the Courthouse.
