Sara Elise Matthews Walton Funeral services for Sara Elise Matthews Walton, 95, of Lexington Road, Washington, were held Sunday, September 30, 2007, at Anthony's Chapel with Rev. Fran Connell officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Friday, September 28, at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington. Mrs. Walton was a native of Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Heidt Matthews and Eugenia Gill Matthews. She was the widow of J.B. Walton. She had worked at Royal Manufacturing Co. in Washington and was a member of Anthony's Chapel. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Terry Crocker, and Linda and Marshall Garrett, all of Washington; a sister, Frances McClarty of Greenville, S.C.; four grandchildren, and fivegreat-grandchildren. Grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anthony's Chapel Church, 3619 Metasville Road, Lincolnton 30817.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
