Dr. Phil
By GARY TOOLE
There are a million voices crying in the wilderness and the more folks hear, seemingly, the more confused they get because they are listening to the wrong source.

It seems that everyone has the answer, but no one really knows wha t the question is. There are so many opinions which are like heads. Everyone has got one or some have got one but don't use it.

And advice. Boy, that's another ball of wax. It's coming out our ears. Years ago, some would say, "Now let me give you a piece of advice." We jokingly said, "That's why they give it away. You can't sell it because nobody wants it."

Well, now they sell or market advice for big money. No matter whether or not it's any good. Dr. Phil is getting filthy rich giving advice. Some folks are so brain-washed to think that if it's on national TV then it's got to be good and right and perfect. Wrong! Mostly just the opposite. Amen! So, let me give them a big piece of advice: "Everything that glitters ain't gold!" Can you say amen?

We've got talk shows, how-to and what-to-do seminars, and howto books running out our ears and folks are more confused than ever. The only thing that has been accomplished is to fatten someone's wallet. We've got Dr. Phil and every kind of do-the-trick pill. Folks are looking everywhere for the answer except where the answers can be found: in the Word; in the good book.

Brother and sister Wommack used to sing an old song, "We are looking for the stone that came rolling through Babylon." That's where all the true answers lie. Are you looking for the stone? In the stone. I hear folks say, "Let me see what Dr. Phil has got to say today," instead of going to the Word and seeing what God has to say or down on their knees in fervent prayer waiting for the Lord to give them an answer. Amen.

I like that old song, "Me and Jesus, we've got our own thing going. Me and Jesus we've got it all worked out." Glory to His name.

Don't go to Dr. Phil for the answer. Go to the one that created Dr. Phil. Go to God. Go to his reliable Word. I ran across these two pieces written by authors unknown. Of course, we know God inspired it and it's far more powerful than anything the soothsayers of this day can or have said. They are more powerful and truthful. Here's the first one, "The Holy Bible. Though the cover is worn, and the pages are torn, and though places bear traces of tears; yet more precious than gold is this book worn and old that can shatter and scatter my fears."

And this is the other one, "Words of wisdom. We search the world for truth; we cull. The good, the pure, the beautiful, from graven stone and written scroll. From all the old flower fields of the soul, and weary seekers of the best, we come back laden from our quest; to findthat all the sages said, is in the book our mothers read." The good book.

Oh how wonderful! There is where we findthe answers. Can you say amen?
