Pauline Rhodes Kendrick Funeral services for Pauline Rhodes Kendrick, 93, of Detroit, Michigan, formerly of Crawfordville, were held Sunday, October 7, 2007, at Greater Level Hill Baptist Church, Crawfordville, with Rev. Dr. Samuel Duggan officiating. She died Tuesday, October 2, in Detroit. Mrs. Kendrick was the eldest of 15 children born to the late Luther Rhodes and the late Murt Lawson Rhodes. She was a member of the Greater Level Hill Baptist Church where she served as secretary of the Sunday School. She was the widow of Milton Kendrick, and had joined the Oak Grove AME Church when they lived in Detroit. Survivors include four daughters, Madeline Melton, Mildred Patricia Howard, Paula Morning, and Rose Marie Harrell; an adopted son, William Hughes; and an adopted daughter, Geraldine Kelly Waldon; siblings, Sirlene Hackney, Lois Smith, Evelyn Kendrick, Clara Stewart, Hattie Freeman, Dorothy Pless, Gladys Little, Edwin Sanders Rhodes, and Luther Rhodes Jr.; fivegrandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
