Hazel Stanley Durrence Funeral services for Hazel Stanley Durrence, 81, of Tucker, were held Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church, Greensboro, with Rev. Richard Chewning officiating. Interment was in the Siloam Cemetery. She died Sunday, October 7, at her home. Mrs. Durrence was a native of Greene County and was the daughter of the late Lucius Peak Stanley and Adeline "Addie" Virginia Moon Stanley. She graduated from Thomson High School and for 30 years worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell. Survivors include her husband, Joe Earl Durrence of Tucker; a daughter, Carole Ann Carson, Byron; three sons, Raymond Hill, Atlanta, Paul Durrence, Buford, and Joey Durrence, Winder; two sisters, Helen S. Withrow, Greensboro, and Dorothy S. Biddy, Washington; and fivegrandchildren, Cindy Carson, Dylan Carson, Olivia Durrence, Conner Durrence, and Emma Durrence. Pallbearers included Lewis Brown, Stanley Brown, Dylan Carson, Jeff Durrence, Edward Withrow, and Myron Maxey. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 216, Greensboro, GA 30642.
