Filthy stinking rich
It's not money that's a sin, but what we do with it. The Hilton sisters are heirs to the Hilton hotel and motel fortune. One sister is 19 and one is 22 and they are flaunting granddad's billions without a clue about the word charity. They are a favorite of the Paparazzi press and the tabloids. The two of them are spending millions like there's no tomorrow with $2500 hair-dos and the Lord knows the rest. Yet I know lots of senior citizens who don't run their air-conditioner because they can't afford the electric bill. These two sisters really do nothing but make you sick with their extravagant spending, exploitation of unworthy wealth; wealth of the rich and greedy. They are constantly being photographed and praised to the point of being two goddesses; idols to the young who wish they were rich so they sell drugs and transport drugs because it's easy big money. They are just wanting to get a little taste of what the Hilton sisters would consider as crumbs from their table. The Hilton sisters promote a lustful promiscuous lifestyle; the lifestyle of the rich and trashy; flaunting their almost nude bodies; setting the pace and standard of immorality to an already perverted society breeding lust and temptation in the hearts of millions of young men and women. Talk about Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality; well, this country is that and much, much more. We as Christians should denounce such lifestyles whether it be rich and famous or the not so; the wealthy promoting sin. Abusing their privilege of having wealth is a sin and Jesus addressed this issue of the rich, their attitude toward wealth. God looks at the heart. Is there charity in the heart whether rich or poor? I'm reminded of the story of a queen and members of her court told her the people had no bread to eat and she cold-heartedly said, "Well, then, give them cake."
Money is not a sin. The love and lust are. What we do with it can be a blessing or a sin. Our attitude toward wealth can be a sin. If we have wealth and flaunt it foolishly disregarding the needy, it is definitely a sin. Can you say amen?
