Expectant couple honored at baby shower on September 15

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hendry of Braselton were honored at a couples' baby shower on Saturday, September 15. The event was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Roman Szczesniak at their home at The Fall of Chateau Elan.

Prior to dinner, the gentlemen enjoyed a game of horseshoes while the ladies conversed on the patio.

Guests were invited into the kitchen where food was served buffet-style from the kitchen island. They were treated to appetizers of homemade onion dip and pita bread, a vegetable tray with a cheese and ranch dip, chips and dip, and an assortment of fruits.

The meal included steak and chicken kabobs along with barbecue and fresh grilled vegetables.

After dinner, guests moved to the garden where they were served desserts of peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake along with an assortment of cookies. Drinks of passion fruit mojitos were served while the mother-to-be enjoyed a virgin version of the same.

The hosts presented the guests of honor a large pink and green gift basket filled with clothes, Baby Einstein CDs and books, toys, bottles, sippie cups, blankets, burp cloths, baby socks, hats, one-piece sleeper jumpsuits and flower wall art.

These were enjoyed with many other useful gifts from other guests.

Thirty guests attended.
