Samantha Armour, William Callaway exchange wedding vows September 15
The bride is the daughter of Greg and Angela Armour of Rayle. The bridegroom is the son of William David Callaway of Washington and the late Joy Blackmon Callaway. The railings to the church were entwined with smilax and the front doors were accented with grapevine wreaths with orange and hot pink bows. Guests registered in the vestibule before entering the sanctuary. The altar was centered with a large sunburst arrangement of sunflowers, white chrysanthemums and hot pink and orange Gerber daisies accented with plumes of pampas grass flanked by wrought iron candelabra with votives also accented with smilax. Smilax banked the choir railing and the baptistery window also lined with lighted votives. A table to the right side held a picture of the bridegroom's mother and a white pillow candle in a setting of smilax. Brother of the bridegroom, Josh Callaway of Washington, lighted this memory candle. Family pews were marked with arrangements of Gerbera daisies and sunflowers with tulle bows and streamers. The center aisle was strewn with pink and orange petals on each side. Lighting the candles were Will Bentley of Rayle, Josh Callaway, and Jason Callaway, cousin of the bridegroom, both of Washington. A program of music was presented by Betty Carpenter of Chestnut Mountain. David Callaway served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Josh Callaway, Jason Callaway, Will Bentley; also, Tracy Weber of Statesboro, Andy Jackson of Tignall, and Josh Grimaud of Washington. Ushers were Jackson Armour of Rayle and J.T. Smith of Washington, cousins of the bride. The bridegroom's boutonniere was a hot pink mini-Gerber daisy and dendrobium orchid sprig with greenery while the usher-groomsmen wore hot pink Gerber daisies with greenery on their lapels. As the bridegroom entered the sanctuary, he placed a red rose at his mother's place in the church pew. Cody Armour of Rayle was her sister's maid of honor. She wore a satin Yoryu strapless A-line dress in truffle with a matching truffle sash that fastened in the back with a single loop bow. Her bouquet was composed of orange and hot pink Gerber daisies and orange Asiatic lilies with stems braided with orange sheer ribbon. Bridesmaids, Bettina Armour of Rayle, cousin of the bride, and Crystal Purdy of Athens, were gowned as the honor attendant while other bridesmaids, Brittany Armour and Casey Davis of Rayle and Abby Smith of Washington, cousins of the bride, and Karla Dawson, also of Washington, were attired in strapless satin trumpet latte gowns with truffle sashes completed in the backs with single loop bows and rhinestone brooches. The attendants carried bouquets of pink and orange Gerber daisies with orange sheer ribbon braided stems. Mattie Heard of Rayle, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl and wore an ivory dress with deep brown bows accenting the pick-up skirt. A halo of gypsophila adorned her hair and she carried a white basket accented with a tulle bow and filled with orange and pink rose petals. Ring bearer Hunter Armour of Rayle, brother of the bride, carried the traditional ivory satin pillow. The lapel of his black tuxedo held a hot pink Gerber daisy and greenery. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was stunning in her strapless satin ivory dress with champagne accents. The full-length skirt and train featured the pick-up design. Her hip-length veil edged in satin fell from a pearl and sequin headpiece. She carried a bouquet of hot pink Gerber daisies, Lovely Lidia spray roses, purple dendrobium orchids, magenta stock, deep yellow Factor daisies and orange Asiatic lilies. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Armour chose a black and white halter dress fashioned with a scalloped hemline that flowed from knee to mid-calf length from front to back. An orange Gerber daisy corsage complemented her attire. Reception Following the ceremony the bride's parents entertained at a reception at their home on Courtground Road. A spacious white tent covered tables overlaid with ivory floor-length cloths and scattered with pink and orange petals amid votive candles. The bride's table, also covered in ivory, held the three-layered ivory confection decorated with pink and orange dots. Petals were scattered about the table. A John Deere cake honored the bridegroom. Guests enjoyed a delicious barbecue with slaw and baked beans. A video of the couple was enjoyed by guests during dinner. Music for dancing on the checkered dance floor was furnished by DJ Mike Fortson of Washington. Following a wedding trip to Panama City, Fla., a wedding gift from Barry and Beth Armour, uncle and aunt of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Callaway are making their home in Newtown. Rehearsal Dinner William Harrison Callaway, along with his father, William David Callaway, entertained over 100 guests including the wedding party, family and friends, at a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening, September 14, at their home at 1412 Columbus Granade Road. A harvest theme was carried out beneath a candlelit tent where tables were decorated with brown linens, burlap and sunflower arrangements.
