County hearings coincide with school board's
On the same days as the Board of Education hearings, the Wilkes County Board of Commissioners will be hosting hearings on their proposed tax rates for the year. Those hearings will be held in the Wilkes County courthouse at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. today and at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 1. The tax rate will officially be set on November 1 in called meeting of the commissioners beginning at 2 p.m.
