Improv comedy workshop set for return of 'Dad's Garage' troupe
Improv comedy is returning to Washington next weekend, and local folks can sign up for an improv workshop on Saturday morning to try their hand at it. Atlanta-based improv comedy troupe Dad's Garage will be return- ing to perform at the Washington Little Theater Playhouse for three shows only on November 2, 3, and 4, and cast members will hold an improv workshop for local talent. "To be hosting Dad's Garage for the second time this year is a real feather in our cap, as well as for performing arts in our area," said Bradley Barber, theater publicity director. "And we're very excited to announce that the group is doing something very different this time. On Saturday morning, November 3rd, Dad's Garage will host an improv comedy workshop for anyone interested in learning more about this hilarious style of theater." Participants in the workshop will then open the show that night, showcasing their newly learned talents for the audience. "It's a great way to bring people of all ages together and to make comedy more accessible and interactive," said Barber. The workshop costs $40 and is open to anyone high-school age thru adult. Workshop hours are 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on November 3 with a special performance that evening beginning at 8. Dad's Garage will also perform Friday, November 2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 4 at 3 p.m.
