Win over Greene a critical one for playoff position
Following a week of and some much-needed healing and recovery time, the Washington-Wilkes Tigers will return to action this Friday night when they host the Tigers of Greene County in the final regular region game of the season. A win for the W-W Tigers will earn them a No. 2 berth in the region playoff on November 9 while a loss would put them in third place in Region 8AA South. The complicated region playoff details are explained in a separate story on page 10. Above, defensive lineman Dan Wylie put the pressure on the Oglethorpe County quarterback en route to the Tigers' recent 20-18 win.
