Best poster designers named
During firesafety week October 8-12, the students at Washington-Wilkes Primary School were involved in many activities. The Washington Fire Department held presentations that reminded the students what to do in case of fire, and also of the importance of smoke detectors in the home. The Kindergarten students were shown the firetruck and firefighting equipment. Students had a chance to participate in a firesafety poster contest "Practice your Fire Escape Plan." The winners were (l-r) Lacy Turner, second grade; Claire Hall, third grade; Markia Booker, first grade, and (not pictured) Wyatt Moore, kindergarten.
