Don't burn trash in the wind
Residents of this trailer were burning trash on a windy day Monday, and set fireto acres of woods near Rayle on Martin Echols Road. Washington and Wilkes County firefighters, along with Department of Forestry personnel and equipment, controlled and put out the fire, which could have easily gotten out of control. After fighting the fire, firefightersnoticed that the trailer had an unsafe jury-rigged electrical service, and no sewage system, and passed the information on to county authorities.
