We had a wonderful service at Sardis Baptist Church Sunday morning. Everyone is enjoying having Rev. Jim Newsome as our pastor and his wife, Karan, with us in the church family. Rev. Newsome brought an inspiring message. Pam Hall led in the singing of hymns with Courtney Gunter as pianist. Monica Gunter held children's church in the annex. Trey Berry was in charge of the nursery. Shoe boxes for the children's ministry are to be turned in November 11 with a dedication ceremony that day. Rev. Newsome invites anyone interested to come out to Sunday School at 10 a.m., worship service at 11 a.m., and the evening service at 6 p.m. Prayer meeting is held at the Echols home every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. and you are cordially invited to that service. I am in remission and will have many doctor visits for the next fiveyears. I appreciate all the concern and words of encouragement that I have received from so many of you. Your prayers have been my comfort and my strength and God is on my side. .A blanket ride (using blankets instead of hay) was enjoyed by the children, youth, and young at heart and friends Sunday evening at Sardis Baptist Church.
