Joanna Katherine Delany to marry Ivan Wycliffe Haynes on May 24

Joanna Katherine Delany Ivan Wycliffe Haynes

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Delany of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Joanna Katherine, to Ivan Wycliffe Haynes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wycliffe Eskrigge Haynes of Columbia, S. C.

Miss Delany is the granddaughter of Mrs. Regina Blanchard and the late Lewis Blanchard of Augusta, the late Helen Delany of San Diego, Calif., and the late L.E. Delany of Houston, Tex.

She is a l998 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School and a 2002 graduate of Augusta State University in Augusta where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. In addition, she is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law in Columbia where she received a Juris Doctorate. Miss Delany is currently employed with the Public Defender's Officer in Columbia, S.C.

Mr. Haynes is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hunt, and the late Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Haynes, all of Columbia, S.C.

He is a 1998 graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Mr. Haynes is currently working on Master of Science in Mathematics at the University of South Carolina in Columbia where he is employed as a teaching assistant.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 24, at the First United Methodist Church in Washington.
