Pipeline landowners to meet Tuesday eve at Rolling 'M' ranch

Some 200 area landowners who are potentially affected by the proposed Elba Express natural gas pipeline are invited to an informational meeting next week.

Meeting next Tuesday, November 13, at 6:30 at the Rolling "M" Ranch Sale Barn at 7834 Elberton Highway north of Tignall, the local landowners group, Landowners for Environmental and Economic Protection (LEEP) say more than 200 landowners are affected by the proposed pipeline which they say will "cut a wide swath through seven counties for the … private profit of two foreign oil companies."

The group, made up of landowners from Wilkes, McDuffie, and Elbert Counties, has retained the services of the environmental law firmof Decker, Hallman, Barber and Briggs to fight the pipeline.
