Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Dupree are back home after a month's vacation to sunny Florida. They had a wonderful trip and were able to attend the fall festival at Ebenezer Baptist Church Saturday evening. We all enjoyed that. We had a good crowd, good food, and wonderful fellowship. On Sunday, Dr. Dupree's message was "Be loyal to your chosen mate or Thou shall love and forgive, no matter what." It was a very good message. Pembroke and Sandra Pope placed a beautiful flower arrangement in the church. .G.B. and I attended the fall festival Saturday evening at Ebenezer Baptist Church. I visited my parents Sunday and had dinner with them in Lincoln County. I spent Friday in Athens and joined my daughter Shane and her husband, Nick Gaines, for dinner at the Olive Garden. .Russell Goldman of Doraville spent Sunday with his mother, Sarah Huff. .Peyton Standard of Lexington, S.C., spent the weekend with his grandparents, Linda and Keith Standard. Russell Goldman, Peyton Standard, and Sarah Huff enjoyed dinner with Linda and Keith Sunday. Bobby Ansley Jr. visited them Sunday afternoon. .Sarah Huff, Linda Standard and Peyton enjoyed the supper and fall festival at Ebenezer Baptist Church Saturday evening. .Mrs. Kevin Davenport (Lisa) and Tyler of Hayesville, N.C., spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Lucille Ingram, and Lisa and Roy Chesnut. Trudy Ingram also spent the weekend with them. .Kevin Davenport and his father, Marvin, camped out and enjoyed deer hunting. .Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Calley visited the family Saturday and Sunday. .Brenda Phillips, Stephanie, Chip, and Skyla Haynes enjoyed trick or treating Wednesday night. On Friday, Richard and Brenda went to Columbia, S.C. .Mrs. Jenelle Newsome joined Rev. and Mrs. Jim Newsome for trip to the North Georgia mountains Tuesday. They visited Jim's friends, Rev. and Mrs. Kent Anglin, at Sautee. Rev. Anglin has not been well for a while. The Newsomes enjoyed the Rotary Pancake Supper Friday evening. .G.B. and Sherry Newsome attended the pancake supper Friday evening. I enjoyed seeing lots of nice people that I had not seen lately. The pancakes and sausage were good for a change. .Tommy Dunnaway is feeling better and we are so glad. He visited his sister and brother, Grace and Alex Dunaway, last week. Alex visited Linda Battle, Linda and Keith Standard, Mrs. Louis Burt, and Dunnaway's shop last week. .Mt. Zion United Methodist Church held All Saints Day Sunday to remember those who passed away. .Randy Goldman treated Sarah Huff, Cassie Goldman, Bryson and Mitch Taylor, Connie and Misty Johnson to supper at Ryan's Thursday evening in Thomson. . Cassie Goldman and Bryson spent the weekend with her mother, Deanne Johnson in Hull. They attended church together Sunday. .Sarah Huff went to Augusta with me Monday for an appointment that turned out well. .November is already here and the year will soon be gone. We had our heat on Sunday -- chilly in Aonia. The leaves are pretty in some areas. Lots of people are going to the mountains to see the beautiful handiwork of God, but just look around Wilkes County and you will see some beautiful scenery here at home. .Happy birthday to all who are celebrating a birthday this week.
