Arnold Rigdon

Funeral services for Arnold "Red" Rigdon, 73, of Tignall, formerly of Sylva, N.C., were held Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Melton-Riddle Funeral Home Chapel, Sylva, N.C., with Rev. Jim Ed Powell officiating. Burial was in the Middleton Cemetery with military rites conducted by members of the William E. Dillard American Legion Post 104. He died Saturday, November 3, at his residence.

Mr. Rigdon was a native of Jackson County, N.C. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church near Tignall and was a retired construction superintendent foreman and a United States Army veteran. He was the son of the late Frank O. and Rosetta Middleton Rigdon.

Survivors include his wife, Charline Flynn Rigdon; a daughter, Karla Brestle, Sylva, N.C.; a brother, Frank Rigdon, Sylva; and two stepgrandchildren, Dustin and Jesse Brestle.
