Christmas parade entries needed for Dec. 9 event

Entries are needed for the annual Washington-Wilkes Christmas Parade set for Sunday, December 9, at 3 p.m.

Organizer Blake Thomson said the parade will line up at the Pope Center on Lexington Avenue and will end at Washington-Wilkes Elementary School on East Robert Toombs Avenue.

"The parade committee is looking for entrants like antique and midget cars, motorcycles, and of course, floats," he said. "We'd like to have participation from churches, civic groups, youth groups, and sports teams as well as dance teams and clubs."

The entrance fee is only $5 per group or organization and all of the proceeds will be given to the Washington Shrine Club. For more information and to enter, contact either Ronnie Huffman at 706-678-1210 or Blake Thompson at 706-319-2237.
