Edward Hope Williamson Jr. Graveside services for Edward Hope Williamson Jr., 82, of Washington were held Friday, November 16, 2007, in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Ficklen Guinn officiating. He died Wednesday, November 14, at his home. Mr. Williamson was born in Bibb County, Georgia, and was the son of the late Edward Hope Williamson and Nora Morris Williamson. He was a retired butcher for a retail grocery store. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Washington. Survivors include his wife, Quinnie Williamson of Washington; four sons, Eddie Williamson, Augusta, Ross Williamson, Paul Williamson, both of Washington, and Clay Williamson of Gainesville; a daughter, Jo Anne Bryant, Thomson; two sisters, Betty Ann Simpkins, Decatur, and Joyce McAnn, Tampa, Fla.; fivegrandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers included David Harris, Albert Willis, Ed George, Linton Scott, John Overstreet, and Charles Rhodes Memorial contributions may be made to Wills Memorial Hospital, Respiratory Therapy, 120 Grodon St., Washington 30673.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
