Mrs. Gary Mansfield surprised with 60th birthday party Nov. 11 Mrs. Gary Mansfieldwas honored at a surprise 60th birthday party Sunday afternoon, November 11, in the Mary Callaway Burton Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church. Hosts for the occasion were Gary Mansfield, Mrs. C.H. Mansfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Mansfield,Hannah and Emily, of Johnson City, Tenn. Assisting the hosts were Mrs. Richard Nelms, Kermit Hocutt and Mrs. Bill Bishop of Washington and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Meadows of Union Point. As guests entered the fellowship hall, they were invited to sign the mat of the framed party invitation. Tables were covered in white with Burgundy and floral overlays and the buffet was centered with a large multi-colored flower arrangement. Round tables, dressed in the same fashion, were scattered about the room to provide seating for the guests. A delicious buffet of delicious party foods was enjoyed with punch and tea. A nearby round table featured the birthday cake and other delicious cakes all made by Mr. Hocutt. Guests enjoyed another table which displayed many pictures of the guest of honor through the years. Decorating the table were sprinkled metallic "60s" and stars and a beautiful fall arrangement. A large number of family members and friends attended. Outof town guests in addition to the Mansfields' son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Mansfield,Hannah and Emily, were brothers and sister and families, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moon of Greensboro, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Moon of Locust Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Meadows of Union Point; great-niece, Brenda Moon of Locust Grove; niece, Mrs. Billy Byce of Greensboro; cousin, Mrs. Jim Wiegel of Gainesville; and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rodgers of Norcross, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Fender of Carrollton, Randy Gill of Barnwell, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hutto of Williston, S.C., Joey Hutto, Justin and James, of Graniteville, S.C., and Margaret Matheny of Barnwell, S.C.
The Mansfield'sson and family were weekend guests. The prior Sunday, longtime family friends, Mrs. Alex Clamp of Williston, S.C., and Rev. Lee Clamp of Barnwell, S.C., visited before Rev. Clamp delivered the Stewardship Celebration message at the Washington First Baptist Church.
