Christmas parade entries needed for Dec. 9 event

There's still time to enter the annual Washington-Wilkes County Christmas Parade set for Sunday, December 9, at 3 p.m.

Organizer Blake Thomson said the Parade will line up at the Pope Center on Lexington Avenue and will end at the Washington-Wilkes Elementary School on Robert Toombs Avenue.

"The Parade committee is looking for entrants like antique and midget cars, motorcycles and, of course, floats," he said. "We'd like to have participation from churches, civic groups, youth groups and sports as well as dance teams and clubs."

The entrance fee is only $5 per group or organization and all of the proceeds will be given to the Washington Shrine Club. For more information and to enter, contact either Ronnie Huffman at 678-1210 or Blake Thompson at 319-2237.
