I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Day and I hope everyone got some of that rain. It was so pretty coming down. I didn't even care when mud got tracked in. After everybody left I didn't mind cleaning it up. .All of my family came and we had a good Thanksgiving Day together. Joining me were my brother, Philip Huff, and his wife Maedell; Edward and Terri Branham, Beth Branham and her friend, Bert Nelson, Josh and Ann Caldwell, Agnes and Carl Hayden, Ryan and Philip, Ray Branham, Whitney and Charlie. One person was missing -- my husband James. .James Sherrer left Wednesday to go to Bennetsville, S.C., to spend Thanksgiving with his family. On Thursday morning he accompanied his daughter Edna to Second Baptist Church to have breakfast with the pastor, Rev. Denny, and other mem- bers. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Sherrer, Nikki and Jamie of Raleigh came and they all enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Coxe. James returned home Friday. .Mrs. Ricky McCarty and Mrs. Cheryle Holsclaw joined other family members for Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Williamson in Jackson. .Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mr. and Mrs. John Sutherland had Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bradford, Zan and Maddie of Alabama. .Mrs. Evans Davis spent Thanksgiving Day with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Scoggins and family. Faye and Hannah visited Mrs. Davis Sunday afternoon. .Dianne Butler of Columbia spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer. .Members of the Lance family met at Ryan's in Athens Saturday to celebrate the birthdays of Clarence and Boyce Jr. Those attending were Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Lance, Boyce Lance, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ansley, Jacob Ansley, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lance, Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Lance, Chris Lance, Mr. and Mrs. James Atkinson, Rev. and Mrs. John Lance, Mrs. Sara Dees, Meredith Smith and Dehstiny, and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance. .Ann and Josh Caldwell spent Wednesday with me. They said that people had been so good to them since their house burned. They found a nice house to rent in the country which they like very much. .Mrs. Virginia Witcraft of Raytown visited Mrs. Evans Davis Wednesday afternoon. .We were sorry to hear that Chester Howard of Ficklen had passed away. A large crowd of friends and relatives attended his graveside service Saturday afternoon. Chester and my brother Philip were best buddies when they attended school together in Lundberg. He came home with Philip to spend the night many times. They had a lot of fun. .Mr. and Mrs. Tad Hopkins of Jacksonville came Tuesday to spend several days with Mrs. Iris Dyson. On Thursday she joined them for Thanksgiving dinner with Mrs. Felton Corbett and family. .Charles Hopkins of Elberton visited Mrs. Iris Dyson and her guests Friday. .John Sutherland and Brad went to Augusta Saturday and enjoyed seeing a wrestling match.
