The second grade Thanksgiving program on Tuesday, November 19, at Washington-Wilkes Primary School was a joy to all parents and grandparents. My grandson, Curt Gammon, had a part in the program. I saw Pat Mack there to see her grandson, J.T. Mack. This program brought back wonderful memories and I felt like I should have been there in front of the groups of children guiding them. Those were the fun days especially one Thanksgiving program when I closed the curtain and a fight started right on stage. It was a fight with the Indians against the turkeys. I think both groups lost some feathers. .On Tuesday night everyone was really in a festive mood at the shopping night on The Square. Kay Tyler and I enjoyed Heather Smallwood's Gym Frogs gymnastics group entertaining on The Square. My granddaughters, Kara and Kaci Gammon, participated in that entertainment. Don't grandchildren keep us busy, but isn't it fun! .Many family get-togethers took place over the Thanksgiving holidays. I wonder if everyone else has that stuffed feeling as I do. We feel that we have to eat all the leftovers because there is no room left in the refrigerator. .Having Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gammon were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Tyler, Mr. and Mrs. Greg Tyler, Jordan, Caleb and Sydney of Hoschton; and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Gammon, Curt, Kara and Kaci. It's hard keeping six kids inside on a rainy Thanksgiving Day, but we were thankful for the rain. Some of the adults and kids enjoyed playing the game of Spoons most of the afternoon. All the little cousins really have a good time together. .Mr. and Mrs. Greg Tyler and children of Hoschton visited with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Tyler from Wednesday through Saturday. . Mr. and Mrs. Graydon Bobo spent Monday through Wednesday in their home in Bainbridge. .Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Keener and Dave Keener joined Mr. and Mrs. Chris Keener and children of Loganville at the home of Vince Keener of Snellville for Thanksgiving. Marjorie stayed until Saturday and while here she visited with Carolyn Gammon on Friday afternoon and with Jeanette Broome on Saturday morning. These school friends always have to catch up with the news of each other. .John and Nonie Yochim hosted Thanksgiving dinner for his family and her family. Arriving on Tuesday night were John's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Bowers of Hudson, Fla., then on Wednesday they were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Yochim, Alyssa and Niki of California, Maryland; and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Yochim and Eric of Valrico, Fla. Tignall Homemakers meet to discuss items of interest to members
At the November 15 meeting of the Tignall Homemakers, the president, Pat Mack, thanked all who had contributed to the very successful Tignall Fall Festival. Edna Lamar's devotional reading on the subject of Thanksgiving included two of her favorite poems.
Linda Burns reported that she and other Homemakers had attended a Tignall Council Meeting and asked for help with work needed on the library building.
Linda also gave the program for the meeting in which she displayed some of her attractive gift baskets and showed how to assemble them.
The president announced that the December meeting will be a covered dish luncheon at the home of Sally and John Kennedy. In the last few years this has become a very pleasant Christmas tradition for the club.
Becky Dixon and Edna Lamar served delectable refreshments in a colorful setting celebrating Thanksgiving.
