Can you live to be 100?
Dr. Douglas Giles (left), a chiropractor with practices in Washington and Athens, was the guest speaker at the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, November 27. Giles presented a program titled, "How to Stay Young for the First 100 Years." He told members that the average life expectancy in 1900 was 49 and has increased to 77 today, and will continue to increase. He said that the aging process produces functional disability and loss of mobility with time and that a regimen of preventive care is necessary. He recommended spinal cord adjustment, stabilization, and maintenance with twice yearly doctor visits to increase mobility to age 80 and beyond. Al Zima was the program host for the day.
