I hope your holiday was a good one. Thanksgiving 2007 is history now. The leftovers are in the refrigerator, the dishes are washed and put away, the company has gone home, the husband is snoring away with the TV going full blast, and the cats and dogs are full and asleep with the dream of more tomorrow. Now, we start preparing for Christmas. .My favorite aunt, my mother's last living sister, passed away quietly Thanksgiving morning. She was my favorite aunt of the four sisters I remember. Her name was Aunt Lois Henderson Holliday of Laurens, S.C. I used to spend every summer with them as she had four children, two boys and two girls. I was close to the entire family. There was nothing that Aunt Lois couldn't do -- sew, cook, make crafts, and garden, to name a few. She was 90 1/2 years old but did not look or act it. She was a wonderful Christian and worked in church in various positions. We will miss her. The funeral was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Welcome Baptist Church in Laurens. It was a wonderful service and there were lots of friends and relatives present. We are sad, but know Aunt Lois is in a better place. She would not want us to cry for her. She would want us to keep on striving for the plan God has for us. She was about as perfect as a Christian can be. .Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shank of Lexington, S.C., arrived Wednesday for a visit with his mother, Mrs. Dot Shank.
