Omer Jackson King Graveside services for Omer Jackson King, 85, of Washington were held Tuesday, November 27, 2007, in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Albert W. Huyck Jr. and Rev. Chris Townsend officiating. He died Sunday, November 25, at Wilkes Health Care Center, Washington. Mr. King was a native of Taliaferro County and was the son of the late Omer Sanford King and Frances Ogletree King. He was a retired auto mechanic and a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. He was the widower of Clara Glaze King to whom he was married for about 50 years; and more recently, Nellie Gunter King. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Olive Ray and Jane K. Stitcher and her husband Roy, of Washington; a sister, Hazel Combs, Crawfordville; two grandsons and their wives, Robert and Laura Ray Jr., Greensboro, and Cliff and Patricia Stitcher, Macon; and fivegreat-grandchildren, Dillon and Brittany Ray, Blake, Taylor, and Mason Stitcher. Memorial contributions may be made to Phillips Mill Baptist Church or to the Washington First Baptist Church.
Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
