Jackson Pope celebrates second birthday Oct. 26
Jackson was treated the following day, October 27, with a John Deere party at his home. John Deere party decorations were used and his John Deere tractor cake was made by his aunt, Melisa Scott of Washington. It was enjoyed after a birthday dinner of hamburgers and hot dogs. Also provided for the children was a special Coke and lemonade slushy drink station. Special out-of-town guests included grandparents, Randy and Mable Tucker of Washington, Pembroke and Sandra Pope of Washington, Faye Flocker Pope of Lavonia; greatgrandmother, Catherine Flocker of Washington; and uncle, aunt and cousins, Greg, Melisa, Levi, Kelsie and Logan, also of Washington. Jackson also celebrated with several of his preschool friends. ute. Mrs. Pollock described the dedication ceremony of markers for fiveRevolutionary War Patriots held on October 27. Betty Slaton reported on her representing the Kettle Creek Chapter on November 3 at Ruckersville, S.C., for the Dozier Thornton grave marking and dedication of a marker for Michael Gaar. It was also noted that there will be a Commemoration of the Cherokee Ford/ Vann's Creek Battle on December 8 at 11 a.m. at the beach area of Russell State Park. Mrs. Pollock reported that the Chapter was represented at the State Board of Management meeting in Columbus on November 3. After other business the meeting adjourned.
