Children learn the joy of giving at FBC's Breakfast with Santa
For the past four years the children have brought toys to give to Santa to help with his local deliveries. "We want the children to learn about the joy of giving and not always receiving something in return," said Rev. Chris Townsend, Minister to Students at First Baptist. "Christmas is called the season of giving, but really it should just remind us of how we should look for ways to give year round," he said. The toys collected at the breakfast will go to the Toys for Tots program sponsored by the Washington Police Department. Donations may be made through December 19.
The children enjoyed a breakfast of sausage biscuits, cinnamon rolls, fruit, milk and orange juice. Pictures of each child were made with Santa who reminded them that Christmas is Jesus' birthday, and we should never forget that.
