Kiwanis Club awards academic jackets to top juniors

Tuesday was "Academic Jackets Day" for the Washington Kiwanis Club. During the program, the top 10% of the Class of 2009 were presented jackets in recognition of their achievement. Steve Echols, W-WCHS principal, gave an overview of current academic achievement for the school and introduced each student. The students, in turn, told club members about their aspirations following graduation. Kiwanis President Bes Moore (at right) was the program host for the day.
