Washington Lions Club updated on district services and activities

Program personalities at the Washington Lions Club Monday, November 19, included (l-r) Lions Frank Spinney, Bobby West, and President Mary Hubbard.
The Washington Lions Club received an update on Lions services and activities in District 18F of Lions International during a recent visit by Frank Spinney of Hephzibah. Spinney is vice president of the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind near Waycross and chairman of the District 18F "Send a Kid to Camp" program.

Spinney expressed appreciation to the Washington Lions Club for its consistent support of the Camp for the Blind and all the various Lions programs for sight conservation, aid to the blind, and civic and humanitarian contributions at the local level.

Besides Spinney's remarks, the program included a video of the Camp for the Blind, showing happy campers from all over Georgia enjoying the usual attractions of summer camp plus several special features designed especially for sight-impaired guests.

Spinney is retired from a career in the United States Army. Since joining the Hephzibah Lions Club in 1994, he has served as a 100 percent club president (twice), 100 percent region and zone chairman, awards committee chairman, and director for the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow and has been awarded the International President's Leadership Medal.

Spinney lives in Hephzibah with his wife, Edith, and their son, Frank II (Bubba.)
