I hope all of you had a wonderful week. As I get older and have experienced serious illness I am so glad and thankful to see another day. Each Monday is a good one, and I hope you too make the most out of every day. We don't know when our time will come, so try to be prepared and right with the Lord and don't forget to thank God for your health and other blessings. .Sincere love and sympathy to all who lost loved ones recently. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. .Jim and Karan Newsome of Rayle visited Jenelle Newsome Saturday. Jim drops by real often to work on the farm. We are sorry to hear that Rick Newsome broke his arm. Surely hope it will heal quickly without problems. .Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tuttle on Thanksgiving were Mr. and Mrs. Henry O'Pry of Athens and Mr. and Mrs. Hill O'Neal. They all enjoyed eating at White Columns in Thomson. .Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Felts (Catiel Tuttle) and Ariel of Gainesville spent the Saturday after Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tuttle. They enjoyed eating out together. .We were sorry to hear that Wade Dunnaway had a fall and broke his wrist. He had surgery on it in Thomson. We wish him a speedy recovery. . Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gay spent several week in Florida with family and friends. They returned home last Thursday. .Aubrye Walker, her friend Heather of Athens, Peyton Standard of Lexington, S.C., and Sara Huff were among those who visited Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard during the weekend. . Russell Goldman of Doraville visited his mother, Sara Huff, during the weekend. .Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Davenport (Lisa Ingram) and Tyler of Hayesville, N.C., arrived Friday to spend several days with his mother, Mrs. Lucille Ingram. .Trudy Ingram visited Mrs. Betty Crawford in Appling several days last week. Mrs. Crawford's health is not good and Trudy enjoys helping her. . I attended a stork shower for Renee Harper Hall Saturday afternoon at Ebenezer Baptist Church. There was a huge crowd there and I enjoyed seeing people that I had not seen in a while, Debra Harper, Betty, Debra's mother, her sister, Peggy Cason of Augusta, Diane Compton, Debbie Burton, Debbie Danner, among a few. She really had a nice shower and that little girl will be "dressed up" for a long time. Yes. Renee is having a girl. . Richard and Brenda Phillips have been shopping for Christmas. Stephanie Haynes, Brenda's daughter, went with them to Augusta. .Happy birthday to my daughter, Rebecca Shane Gaines, on December 1. Also to Mrs. Betty Hall on December 1. This week, Johnny Shelton and Agnes Smith, and Lindsay Standard will celebrate on the third. .I hated to hear of the vandalism of Phillips Mill Baptist Church last week. Someone surely needs the Lord in their heart. We fed her twice a day and tried to findher owner but to no avail. So I suppose after a few weeks, she's ours now. If anyone wants a puppy for Christmas, give me a call. As soon as these puppies are weaned, I'm taking her for surgery! I promise. .Our visitors have been Sarah Huff, Burt Newsome, Shannon Thomasson, Taylor McAvoy, and the Gaines family of Winterville. .I dropped by to see Warren and Lois Nunn a while Saturday. It's always nice to see my old neighbors on Water Street. I also visited my parents in Lincoln County last week and on Monday. .We had a very good day at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday with very good attendance. The sermon was "A World Without Music; the First Songs of Christmas." The pastor presented gifts to the children for their coloring pages, given through the children's sermon recently. A fellowship meal was enjoyed by all.
