Students from the Rotary Clubsponsored Interact Club at Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School spent Monday night shopping for needy children identified by the Community Angel Tree Project in preparation for Angel Tree delivery this Saturday morning.

The students shopped using money that they had raised through various community projects during the year and also money given to them by the Washington Rotary Club. The students were accompanied on their shopping trip by Assistant Principal Mark Ward and Rotarian Buddy Lindsey.

Later this week the students are gathering to wrap the presents for delivery on Saturday.

Angel Tree Delivery is Saturday, December 8, at 9 a.m. Volunteers will assemble at the old fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church on Spring St.

Volunteers are still needed to help with delivery. The volunteers will be divided into teams for delivery to various neighborhoods and areas of the county.

"Please consider helping with delivery," remarked Angel Tree chairman Laura Toburen. "It is a blessing not only for the children and their families but for those volunteers involved in taking the gifts and food to the needy families."
